iPage – our top pick for the best value hosting plan

When I first found out about iPage while doing my research about hosting companies, for some reason, it never really made a big impression on me. The reason I ended up adding it to my list was because it was consistently listed as a top-10 Web host, but at the same time, I really didn’t see it as anything special. Boy, was I wrong!
Now I know that the reason it didn’t stand out for me was because of something completely unrelated to their hosting plan or service. It was because of their name! The name iPage makes it sound like it’s not even a hosting company. Compare that to other companies on top-ten Web host lists such as Host Monster, Host Papa, Host Upon, and even Lunar Pages, and I think you’ll see what I mean. I also think that their banner is not as attractive as other ones.
After really checking into iPage’s hosting plan thoroughly, I can now say that iPage might actually have the best hosting plan value currently available. I’ll explain why.
iPage has all the perks that we’ve come to expect from the best hosting companies, such as:
- UNLIMITED bandwidth
- UNLIMITED disk space
- Host UNLIMITED domains
- FREE domain
In addition to that, though, are two things that I think really set them apart. They are:
- Shared SSL (secure credit card processing). This will save you a lot of trouble if you are planning on selling something online. With this included part of their hosting plan, you will be able to accept payments online without having to purchase an SSL certificate or a dedicated IP address, which could all cost you an additional $100 per year.
- $3.50 per month, even for 1 year sign ups. Most hosting companies require that you pay for multiple years in order to get their advertised best discount. For example, a plan might have a $7.95/month for a 1 year, $6.95/month for a 2 year, and $5.95/month for a 3-year sign up. However, iPage’s per monthly rate is $3.50 per month whether you sign up for 1, 2, or 3 years. Now that’s amazing!
